  • Wow, it's been a long time since I have updated, so where
should I start?  Well the wedding was a lot of fun, but it re-iterated the
number one reason why I hate wireless products THEY ARE UNRELIABLE!!!!   I felt bad even though there was nothing
that I could do.  The ceremony was
absolutely beautiful and well the reception was extremely nice.  I met a lot of people from Israel
this weekend and made many new friends. Getting home at 3:30 am wasn't fun, but hey friends only get married once.

I have a weird bruise on my arm and the funny thing is I don’t
know where it came from.  It started off
small and yesterday it got bigger and swelled up.  It actually looks like I got beat with a
    hammer.

Yesterday was just one of those days I strolled down memory
lane.  I was sitting in my house relaxing
after a busy weekend and it was around 6pm
when I began to hear the all too familiar sound of the ice cream man’s truck.  I immediately drifted into a daze as I began
to remember running around outside as a kid on a hot summer day.  I could almost smell the fresh cut grass and
feel the sweat dripping off my brow, and then you hear the heavenly musical
melody ringing out from the ice cream truck as it strolled down the long
street.   I remember racing inside the house, searching
frantically for my money I had set aside for this very event.  Quickly, I rushed out the front door only to
find a long line between me and my heavenly delight.  Then I was back in reality and the all to
familiar sound had vanished.  Then my
friend Bryan came over.  As we sat and
waited for another friend to arrive, we heard the all too familiar sound once
again, but we both sat there debating whether or not we should go out there.  Not even 30 minutes later the same familiar
music began echoing down the street as he passed by the house.  This time I jumped up and ran outside like a
little kid.  It was funny because he
stopped at the corner because my neighbors across the street had the same
idea.  After the third time driving
through I was like what the heck, might as well get something.  Looking at all the choices made me once again
fade away into the past as I reminisced of my childhood years except the prices
were a lot cheaper.  I ended getting a
bomb pop which was much smaller than they used to be and much more
expensive.  Go figure that one out.

Sorry Doug for putting you on hold while I
enjoyed myself to an ice cream.

Check out my Xanga Photos!!  It's something new that Xanga is doing.  So far it's the only way I know how to get to it.

  • The Stand - Joel Houston

    You stood before creation
    Forever within Your hand
You spoke all life into motion
    My soul now to stand

    You stood before my failure
And carried the cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
    My soul now to stand

    So what can I say
    And what can I do
But offer this heart O God
    Completely to You

    So I'll walk upon salvation
    Your Spirit alive in me
My life to declare Your promise
    My soul now to stand

    So what can I say

    And what can I do
But offer this heart O God
    Completely to You

    So I'll stand

With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all
    I'll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
    All I am is Yours

  • Hillsong United was awsome last night for those of you that missed it:
    Photo_040506_003

They claim there were about 2000 young people there worshiping God, but I'm not so sure it was that many. Maybe someone else can comment on here about that. I do know it was packed and the line grew fast!!! We got there around 5:15 PM and somehow the line grew a few hundred people before us. I didn't mind to much as we had people join us in line. They had this guy wearing a hot dog outfit driving around in a golf cart selling hot dogs. It was definently a site to see. I always enjoy seeing the Hillsong groups as they come through the area. I only wish they would come to a bigger venue than the Wave Church. They have a great relationship with the Hillsong church, so that's how they keep getting them there every time they come through the area. I heard a one term from the speaker (the youth paster of Hillsong church) it was "The Bum Wiggle." We all laughed when we heard it. The girls were cramped together in the front where everyone was practically sitting on top of each other as there were so many people down front and not enough room for everyone to sit down once everyone crammed in. But he had the people in the front center do "The Bum Wiggle" to make some room for those that were standing and still had no room to sit. We also found out that since they are from the "down under", he said we are from the "up and over." I say all of that to say this, they love to worship. The tour they are on and the cd they released is called "Hillsong United We Stand." While I love practically all their songs, "The Stand" was probably one of my most favorite!! It was good to spend time with such close friends worshiping God. It was just like old times . Well I must get going for now.

    Take care and God Bless,

  • God's Mysterious Dealings

WIERD NEWS:  Apparently me and a bunch of my friends all had the same sickness yesterday.  We don't know the common thread yet, but it was a total of 9 people.  Seems like a spiritual attack of some sort.

    ADVERTISEMENT:
Ok tonight is the Hillsong United concert in Virginia Beach.  Check out http://www.wavechurch.com for more information concerning the concert.

    DEVOTIONAL: God's Mysterious Dealings
I found this on the internet while doing my morning reading and though it would be good to share with everyone.

"Thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons" (2 Kings 4:4).

They were to be alone with God, for they were not dealing with the
laws of nature, nor human government, nor the church, nor the
priesthood, nor even with the great prophet of God, but they must needs
be isolated from all creatures, from all leaning circumstances, from
all props of human reason, and swung off, as it were, into the vast
blue inter-stellar space, hanging on God alone, in touch with the
    fountain of miracles.

Here is a part in the programme of God's dealings, a secret chamber
of isolation in prayer and faith which every soul must enter that is
    very fruitful.

There are times and places where God will form a mysterious wall
around us, and cut away all props, and all the ordinary ways of doing
things, and shut us up to something Divine, which is utterly new and
unexpected, something that old circumstances do not fit into, where we
do not know just what will happen, where God is cutting the cloth of
our lives on a new pattern, where He makes us look to Himself.

Most religious people live in a sort of treadmill life, where they
can calculate almost everything that will happen, but the souls that
God leads out into immediate and special dealings, He shuts in where
all they know is that God has hold of them, and is dealing with them,
and their expectation is from Him alone.

Like this widow, we must be detached from outward things and attached inwardly to the Lord alone in order to see His wonders. --Soul Food

In the sorest trials God often makes the sweetest discoveries of Himself. --Gems

"God sometimes shuts the door and shuts us in,
That He may speak, perchance through grief or pain,
And softly, heart to heart, above the din,
May tell some precious thought to us again."

  • Ok I haven't updated like this in forever.  If you want to see the pictures of Josh scroll down a few posts.  I received this from a friend concerning a situation a friend of mine is going through, but often times we forget to do this every day.  We can't fight if we aren't prepared.

    The Whole Armor of God
    (Ephesians 6:10-20)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in
the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the
whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of *the darkness
of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of
God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
stand.14 Stand therefore, having girded your
waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the
gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of
faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked
one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword
of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying
always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this
end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints-- 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may
open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may
speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
  • Today I feel totally blah, I hope I'm not coming down with anyting.  I have this massive headache and my stomach... we won't even go there.  On the flip side, I am looking forward to seeing Hillsong United Wednesday night in VA Beach..

  • Well this has been an interesting week of events for me, but God is in control which is awesome. I had a much needed conversation this week that went well. It may not have happened like I thought it would or have planned, but all in all in the end, there is a better friendship than before which is great. The downside of things is I got into an accident with my car. I rear-ended this little old lady in the stop and go traffic on 64. My back is still sore and my ego hurt and soon my wallet will be hurt by the increase in my insurance but hey it’s only money right? Things could have been worse in both situations, but one thing I learned is, God is still in control. I’ll admit that on Wednesday afternoon I was bummed about the car.

Lets get back to the real reason I’m making this post. My best friend and brother graduated from Boot Camp in South Carolina @ Fort Jackson. His real true friends from all around went down to South Carolina to see Josh at his graduation.  It was like a giant circus on the road all cramped into the vehicles.  The ceremony was great, as you will see from the pictures below:

Can you spot which one is Josh??

Here is where Josh ate all his meals. He can’t stand to look at this place, so I had to include it on the little tour.

We beat his parents to the company C barracks, and began waiting for Josh to arrive after the ceremony. We were standing there looking around when we begin to hear chanting coming down the paths behind us. We turned around and saw the Charlie Platoon walking our way. We couldn’t have been closer and it was totally God as Josh ended up walking right past us and I was able to get his picture. Then his Drill Sergeant decided they needed to show off a little in doing some PT as you will see below. As soon as he dismissed them, I saw Josh looking for us and he made this bee-line for us and ran straight to me were we hugged each other for a while. It was so good to see him again, and I couldn't be more proud of him.

Now for those of you that were worried he would loose his sense of humor or his personality don’t worry he’s back better than ever minus his hair (it will grow back soon).

    IMG_2932

After his parents got there to sign him out, we all went to Texas Roadhouse to eat lunch. Josh’s personality was well known among the battalion because everywhere we went, they all wanted Josh to either sing or act for their family members. We later went back to his mom’s hotel room to hang out for a while and catch up on things.

Later that night we went out to Ruby Tuesday to get our grub on and well talk more. You don’t realize so much goes on in 9 weeks but wow a lot has happened and changed since then. What do we do after dinner except go back to the apartment to take some more pictures and such. I’ll have to post these later as It will take forever to upload them using my cell phone. I’ll probably end up creating an online picture album for this trip so everyone can go check them out whenever they want to.

If you want an update on where he will be in the near future, or how to get in contact with him let me know and I can share that information with you. Sorry there isn’t anymore information in this post as there was a lot that went on. Keep checking his xanga for some updated information as he will be posting soon. If he doesn’t get to post before he goes into his AIT, I’ll probably post the information here on my xanga. Either way one of us will keep you all posted so you can send some Josh love his way. I know when I say this, I speak for Josh, he would like to thank everyone for their prayers during this time of his life.

The sky.... Twas a beautiful day!!!

  • I just have one thing to say today.... Joshua Thompson graduates Boot Camp on Friday!!!!!!

March 24, 2006

  • All I can say right now is WOW!!!  I am sitting here in Virginia
Beach just soaking in God's Presense.  As some of you know I work
for a ministry based out of North Carolina and we are here working on a
recording project.  I was in the middle of working on some of the
administrative tasks that needed to be done when Keith began to move in
the prophetic.  The power of God came in so strong and it's still
here.  I can feel God's arms around me as I am typing this.
I feel His peace, and His love, and I can hear Him saying that
everthing is going to be ok.  Sometimes I wish He would say more,
but right now that's all I need.  God All I want is more of You
and less of me.  Guide my ways and make my path straight.
Consume me with Your fire and burn up all that isn't of You.  Help
me to walk in Your perfect will for my life.  Help me to hear Your
voice and no other.  Annoint my feet so that they will go where
you want them to go.  Renew a right spirit in me and guard my
heart against any vile thing.  Father I commit myself to you and
present myself as a broken vessel before you.
